Belarus band, which is a
sociological phenomena. Because of them youngsters in Belarus started
again to speak Belarussian, which is being replaced by Russian
language in this country runned by a dictator. They are an example
for how music can fight succesfuly with the dictatorship and lack of
freedom.
Band was founded in 1994 by the former
musicians of Morja band. Their name refers to the shortcut from
Independent Republic of Belarus. It is one of my favourite Eastern
European Bands.
Here is a song: Three Turtles (Tri
Cherepakhi). It tales a story about society, which is being
disinformed all the time. They are said that the globe is standing on
three turtles and that there were no such people as: Galileo,
Salvador Dali and Bob Marley. This is symbol for erasing people,
whose actions do not go with the political doctrine. Refrain goes:
Don't you wait, there will be no surprises. Which
is a call for an action and changing view on the political matters.
