Slavic Rebel Songs: Anarchy with the Ukrainians

The Ukrainians is an interesting story. They were formed in 1990 in Leeds, but they sing in Ukrainian. They play music inspired by Slavic folk, but with the energy of rock bands.

They write about themselves at their official website:

We are a mix of East and West, Passion and Power, Tenderness and Dynamism. We write our own songs, and we happily cover classics from east and west.
We use eastern instruments like mandolins, accordions & violins, and sing in Ukrainian language, and support all of this with western rhythm.

And it is completely true. Song below do not have to be introduced to abnybody – it is a cover of some famous thing. Anyway, we prommised not to post other music than English, so lets tribute the punk classics with the video below. The lyrics are quite accurate translation of Sex Pistols, so I won't bother translating it again. Enjoy.

Other songs of them will be probably published soon in here, as they have some great lyrics with significant meaning. Because of their roots and music that they play we can surely call them Slavic, but we have to remember that the band was created in Leeds, so they are another example that the best rock music of the world comes from the British Islands.
